Online and Email Marketing Resources for Businesses in Traverse City, Michigan and Beyond

Posted on May, 09, 2012 by - 0 Comments

We did an online, web marketing presenetation for the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce for a bunch of Traverse City business owners and had a great time walking them through the basics of web marketing, search engine optimization (SEO) and using email to blast their message to their email mailing lists.

During the web markting presentation we supplied the participants with a list of online marketing and SEO resources and links they could use to help them.

We thought we would post it here for all our web visitors, as well as a place to send clients with new websites to get them thinking about web marketing and how to improve, or optimize, their websites for better search engine rankings.

Traverse City Web Design’s Marketing Success in the Wall Street Journal

Posted on November, 10, 2010 by - 2 Comments

We made the Wall Street Journal!

A fund raising event we did all the marketing for (including a four piece invitation, several postal mailing pieces and a 10 piece email marketing campaign) has garnered an article in the Wall Street Journal.

Traverse City Web Design founder and lead designer Kate Botello-Weigel worked closely with the president of The American Songbook Project, Michael Estwanik, to create all the marketing materials for their annual 'Name that Tune' fundraiser.

The event ended up making in excess of $25,000 and received a call in the Wall Street Journal – where Kate's invitations were given a brief, off-hand mention!

Congratulations to Kate and Michael for all their hard work in keeping the tradition of music alive in America.   Thanks!

We're delighted to announce the launch of a MAJOR new feature article we laid out at ChadStuemke.Com.  Author and researcher Chad Stuemke wrote it, we put it up on the website – which was no easy feat as the article weighs in at a whopping 8,800 words!

It's called, Scaling The Shimmering Path of the Gods – The Re-Emergence of the Rainbow Bridge.  It's all about the mythology and symbolism of Rainbows in relation to Chad's personal journey of discovery.

We designed, built and manage Chad's website: http://www.chadstuemke.com

Facebook Tip: What Businesses Should Offer Their Facebook Friends

Posted on August, 21, 2010 by - 0 Comments

Why do people friend and follow brands on Facebook?  Two new studies recently came out that answer that question and should clue savvy business owners into what to post on their Facebook pages.

The first, from Google, looked at Facebook. The study found that 55 percent of Facebook users do not friend or "like" any brands on Facebook. Of those who do, 18 percent become a fan of one or two brands, 11 percent do so for three or four brands, 10 percent five to nine brands and just 6 percent ten or more brands. And why do they become fans?

25 percent to receive discounts and promotions
18 percent to show others they support the brands
10 percent because it's fun and entertaining
8 percent to hear new info first

The second study comes from ExactTarget and surveyed Twitter users ages 15 and up. They found that:

38 percent of users follow brands to get updates on future products
31 percent to receive discounts and promotions
30 percent to get updates on upcoming sales
28 percent to get a "freebie"

So what does all this mean?  If you're a business owner you should offer special discounts to your Facebook friends.  You should also use Facebook to keep people updated on recent product offerings and future plans.

We made this deer image for an ad design contest that Northern Michigan Men's Magazine ran – NM3.  We liked the image, so we though the best thing was to turn it into a massive desktop wallpaper.  It works best as desktop wallpaper on multiple monitors or monitors with VERY high resolution.Posts
