A Website Built for Real-World Booking
One of the core challenges was reservations. Like many small resorts, Sleeping Bear Hideaway needed something more robust than inquiry forms or phone-only bookings—but without the complexity and cost of enterprise hotel software.
We designed and built a custom WordPress website with a full reservations system that allows visitors to:
- View real-time cabin availability
- Select specific arrival and departure dates
- See which cabins are available on a calendar
- Book their stay directly through the website
The system removes friction for both guests and staff. Visitors can confidently plan their trip without back-and-forth emails or phone calls, while the resort gains a centralized, reliable booking workflow that works around the clock.
Clean Design, Northern Michigan Tone
From a design standpoint, the site was intentionally restrained. We focused on clarity, whitespace, and natural flow—letting photography, location, and information do the work. The layout emphasizes:
- Easy navigation for first-time visitors
- Clear cabin information without overwhelm
- Mobile-friendly booking for travelers on the go
- A visual tone that reflects lakes, woods, and quiet mornings
The result is a site that feels unforced and welcoming—much like the resort itself.
Built to Grow, Easy to Manage
Behind the scenes, the site is built to be durable and flexible. Resort owners can manage availability, pricing, and content without technical headaches, while the system remains scalable for future updates or seasonal changes.
As with many Traverse City Web Design projects, the focus wasn’t just launch day—it was building something sustainable that works for the business long-term.
A Digital Front Door to Northern Michigan
Sleeping Bear Hideaway Resort now has a website that acts as a true digital front desk—open 24/7, clear, and easy to use. Guests arrive informed, confident, and already connected to the experience before they ever step foot on the property.
Projects like this are a reminder of why we do what we do: helping Northern Michigan businesses translate real-world hospitality into thoughtful, functional digital spaces.
