Traverse City Web Design: News & Updates

New Website:Northern Michigan’s Treatickets

The Ticketmaster of Northern Michigan, Treatickets gives Northern Michigan arts organizations an easy way to promote their events, and gives residents and visitors of Northern Michigan an easy way to buy tickets online.

We were an integral part of the company's beginnings, working with a coalition of leaders from the Traverse City arts community to create the site, including executive directors of The Old Town Playhouse, the Traverse City Symphony Orchestra, The Opera House and Dennos Museum.

We designed the Treatickets.com website and all associated marketing materials (look for the signs we made in the basement of Horizon Books in downtown Traverse City, Michigan!). The board of directors wanted a portal type site that good hold alot of information but not look like any other portal on the web.  AND, to top it off, they wanted the site to resemble the logo for the organization.

We looked toward famous modern Dutch painter Piet Modrian for inspiration, borrowing his hard shaped and bright primary colors to make a site, and corporate identity that was forward thinking and unmistakable.

We worked with Lars Kelto Technologies to build the site on a Drupal framework, using LOTS of  advanced code to layo ut the design.  Ultimately, this allowed us to make a custom Content Management System.  We teamed up with Agile Ticketing to power the ticketing aspect of the site as well as the credit card and order processing.

Treatickets has sold over a million tickets as of early 2010.
